Get around the city with public transport

As a visitor or new to an unfamiliar city, it is not always easy to understand how to use public transport to get around. With hotels in the middle of the city center, there is walking distance to most things, but also many transport options to get to places that are a little further away. We give you a guide on how to get around the city to and from our hotels.

How to get to our hotels

If you are coming to Oslo Airport by plane and are going to take the train, you can use both the air train and NSB. It doesn’t take more than 20-25 minutes to find yourself in the city centre. To get to our hotels from Oslo Central Station, you will find transport options both by bus and tram, or by walking. From Jernbanetorget at Oslo Central Station to Saga Apartments and Saga Hotel Oslo
  • Tram 19 direction Majorstuen, get off at Rosenborg.
  • Tram 11 direction Majorstuen, get off at Homansbyen.

  • Tram 13 direction Bekkestua,
  • Tram 12 direction Majorstuen
  • Tram 19 direction Majorstuen.
All three trams stop on Øvre slottsgate, right next to the hotels.

Use public transport to go from the hotels into the city

Saga Apartments and Saga Hotel Oslo

The hotels are close to the city center and are not far from each other. It takes 12 to 15 minutes to walk down to the Castle, which is located at the end of Karl Johans gate. If you are going further out into the city than that, you can take both trams and buses to get around.
  • The bus stop Uranienborgveien is 3 minutes from the hotel. Bus 21 runs here. The bus does not run through the city centre, but runs through large parts of the city, from Helsfyr to Tjuvholmen.
  • The tram stop Rosenborg is 3-4 minutes from the hotel. Here, tram 19 runs in the direction of Ljabru and in the direction of Majorstuen. The tram from the hotel in the direction of Ljabru takes you through the city centre.
  • The tram stop Homansbyen is 7 minutes from the hotel. Here, tram 11 runs in the direction of Kjelsås and in the direction of Majorstuen. The tram from the hotel in the direction of Kjelsås takes you through the city centre.

Saga Poshtel Oslo Central and Saga Hotel Oslo Central

The hotels are located in the same building and are only a 9-minute walk from Oslo Central Station and 10 minutes from Aker brygge. With a short distance to the central station, you have access to everything from bus, tram and subway to get around the city. Nevertheless, you have both a bus and a tram a few minutes from the hotels.
  • The Kvadraturen bus stop is 2 minutes from the hotels. Here, a number of buses run in all directions around the city. Buses 70, 31, 30 and 54.
  • The tram stop Ovre slottsgate is 3 minutes from the hotels.
    • Tram 12 direction Kjelsås-Majorstuen
    • Tram 13 direction Grefsen station-Bekkestua
    • Tram 19 direction Ljabru-Majorstuen
The trams in the direction of Kjelsås, Grefsen station and Ljabru take you through the city centre.
