Places to visit, things to do

Roseslottet is located high above Frognerseteren, with views across all of Oslo. Here you’ll find an outdoor art exhibition that tells the story of the occupation, the resistance movement, and the values our society is built on. You wander between installations and artworks in the open air, with the forest at your back and the fjord stretching out in front of you. It’s an experience that’s lovely to share—and just as perfect to do alone, at your own pace.

Oslo is a fjord city. In summer, the whole city revolves around the fjord. In recent years, lots of saunas have popped up. Oslo Fjord Sauna is run by Fjord CleanUp. The saunas are self-service, and the surplus goes towards cleaning up the fjord. A clear conscience, a great sauna, and a refreshing dip.

A fairly new addition, but a really cozy wine bar in charming Frogner. With an intimate atmosphere across two floors, the bar also serves small bites to pair with the wine. As it should be, the wine list is long and extensive—and for those not looking to commit to a whole bottle, there’s also a great selection by the glass.
