Dinners out of the ordinary
La Såda
tel: + 47 401 99 686, addr: Schultz’ gate 11
A gem of a restaurant. A few blocks from Bogstadveien you’ll find this delicious pizza restaurant. Only around 20 seats make this an intimate and cozy place. The service is friendly, the pizzas are heavenly and the atmosphere is unique. This is the place to go if you want something special, something out of the ordinary for a good price.
Stables

Almost across the street from Brasserie Blanche you’ll find another stable, Restaurant Stallen. Here, the food, wine and service have been taken up a notch. It’s so good that it’s almost worth the trip to Oslo alone, no matter where you’re coming from. Got its first Michelin star last year, well-deserved and far too late. Just jump on board and let yourself be seduced by the food and drink. This is so much more than food.
Brasserie Blanche

A classic in Oslo. A French brasserie that sticks to traditions and doesn’t easily jump on trends. This is classic and solid. When a French restaurant is praised for its bernaise, you know you’re in the right place. Brasserie Blanche is housed in a former stable, but there is little evidence of horses and stables today. The place has both a wine bar and a restaurant. The wine list is a find for those with a taste for classic wines.
Paradisbukta, Bygdøy
Oslo is a summer city. There’s a lot of praise for those who take their first swim of the year. There are many places to swim in the fjord, but there’s nothing like sandy beaches when the temperature rises. Paradisbukta is on the King’s property, but is open to the public. A little less crowded and a little less hustle and bustle here than at Huk a kilometer further east.
Places to visit, things to do
Sauna by the fjord – Oslo Fjord Sauna
Oslo is a fjord city. In summer, the entire city circles the fjord. In recent years, many saunas have sprung up. Oslo Fjord Sauna is run by Fjord CleanUp. The saunas are self-service and the profits go towards cleaning up the fjord. A clear conscience, a good sauna and a cool bath.
Libertine wine bar
A fairly newcomer, but very pleasant, wine bar in cozy Frogner. With an intimate atmosphere over two floors, the bar also serves small bites with the wine. As you would expect, the wine list is long and rich. And for those who don’t fancy a whole bottle, there’s also a good selection by the glass.
The city is full of fun and unusual shops. We’ve picked some of the most fun shops in the neighborhood.
Take something home with you
The Lady
An independent clothing store for women, as the name says. Here you’ll find clothes that not many other stores have, competent staff to help you find quality and design. Known for its exciting selection of designers. https://dendama.com
Vestkanttorvet
This is Oslo’s largest and oldest second-hand market. Here you’ll find all kinds of furniture, porcelain, glass and things you never knew existed. Whether you’re looking for something special or just want to browse, the market is always fun. Often there’s someone serving fresh waffles. If not, it’s not far to many good places to eat nearby.
Carefree
A fairly newcomer, but very pleasant, wine bar in cozy Frogner. With an intimate atmosphere over two floors, the bar also serves small bites with the wine. As you would expect, the wine list is long and rich. And for those who don’t fancy a whole bottle, there’s also a good selection by the glass. https://sorgenfri.store
